Aloha mai kākou!
Hi friends!! I hope you’re all doing well. I may or may not have disappeared for a bit… but just be prepared for an influx of postcards from future me, because I have a LOT to catch you up on.
For spring break, I didn’t travel or go anywhere crazy. I stayed in Florence, and it ended up being exactly what I needed. I spent a lot of time on my own, taking myself on little solo dates, getting gelato, and picking up cookie dough brownies from Valu Bakery (which I highly recommend) more times than I would like to admit. I literally just walked and explored the city at my own pace, and found a peaceful spot near the river where I just sat, relaxed, drew, listened to music, and people watched. On that note, I also started reading and drawing again, which are things I love to do but kind of fell out of since the start of school. It felt really nice to come back to that.
It definitely wasn’t the most exciting break like other people’s, but it was the reset I needed.
Moral of the story: Sometimes slowing down and spending time with yourself is exactly what you need. Until then, stay tuned for my next postcard from Alisha Abroad.
A hui hou.
